Singing bowls are the principal auditory aid to meditation used in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The bowl can be struck like a gong or made to 'sing' by rubbing the outer rim of the bowl with the striker or puja to produce a complex harmonic tone which draws the mind into a state of meditative focus. |
